Everyone arrived early for the first day of the 2004 Florida Billfish Master's Tournament -- Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts were served to observers.
We were there to get pictures of many of the boats as they came in to pick up their observers until our ride -- the "Get Lit" -- arrived...

After a little waiting which seemed like hours in the rough and sloppy conditions -- Ray Rosher finally led the "Get Lit" to their first release of the day...
After going a total of 5 for 10 on sails to go along with three nice dolphin, we stopped to get bait for tomorrow on the way back to Miami Beach Marina. Captain Ray and the crew would proudly display release flags signifying their five releases for the first day of fishing which kept them within reach for the lead. Stay tuned to see what happens during day 2!!!

All in all, although conditions were rough, fishing was great with 28 boats releasing a total of 93 sailfish!
Day 1 saw "Cabana" atop the leaderboard with 1800 points followed close behind by "Tenerife" and "Miss Britt" with 1400...
