Jan 21, 2004 SET UP
Jan 22, 2004 Capt Meeting
Well, the most anticipated billfish tournament in South Florida is finall over. The final standings can be viewed HERE. Great times were had by all and although fishing was a bit slow, seas were cooperative on both fishing days which made for a plesant experience. Endless Imagery Photograpy was at the marina and out on the water during BOTH fishing days! This adds up to a total of over 700 photos taken during the tournament! These photos are available now on one DVD in high quality (300DPI) for purchase. In order to purchase a DVD for $30 (including shipping), please send an email HERE. Please make check payable to Greg Gawlikowski and be sure to include your address so that I can send you out the DVD without delay (DVDs usually ship out the same afternoon if the orders are received by 3PM!).

During the first day of fishing I was at the marina early (4:30AM) and I was on the dock when the boats came in to pick up their release cards and their observes. After all the commotion was finally over I headed out on the HeaveeWeight (34 SeaVee) with Adrian(FES), Lisa(SouthernSnookGirl), Frank(BigDaddy), Ovi(Oviv), and Compay. We headed southeast out of the Port of Miami and got pictures of over 30 of the boats entered in the tournament including:

Reel Friends, Qualifier, Masita III, Reel Doc, Hipkneetized Too, Outta Line, Perry-Dise, T.C.B, Fine Line, Telamon, Goldfish, FillaMagilla, Bouncers Dusky, Get Lit, Plan B, Sea Hunter, Mob Jack, Champ, Freedom, Ivette VII, Warrin' Peace, Thomas Flyer, Legal Limit, Sarita IV, Money Shot, Sonny Boy, Full Tilt, Boat Center, Enemy Lines, Marlin Darlin, Harmless Error, Miss Britt, Celia P, and Carrera...

After getting photos of the scenery arond Miami and the boats fishing the tournament out on the water, we headed in to the dock to get photos of the boats coming in from fishing and then hung out for some casual photos afterwards. We headed home early as we knew tomorrow would be another long day!!!

During day 2 we again hung around the dock in the morning to get photos of the boats coming in the check in. After that I headed out with Gary, Ovi, and my wife, Stacy, to again get photos of the boats fishing the tournament. Today, we ran out past Fowey and headed south towards Triumph, but as we got closer to Triumph we had boat problems and had to head in (slowly) early. Although we cut the day on the water short, we still managed to get several good photos of the following boats:

Candela, Double D, Enemy Lines, Love Train, Sea Hunter, Glory Daze, Apple Pie and Coffee, Magic Fingers, No Execuses, Why Go Home, Hold'em Hook, Reel Doc, Harmless Error, Morning Dance, Mob Jack, Fulunga, and Bouncers Dusky, not to mention several more boats whom we were not able to identify as the boat name was not clear in the photos.

Overall, we got photos of over 50 of the 78 boats entered in the tournament which I think is not too shabby! Later that evening, we got several decent shots of every tournament winner coming up to the stage to obtain their awards. It was a long four days, but in short -- what a tournament - especially for the first year!!! See everyone at the GroveSlam! in May!!!
